SBK OFFICIAL MOBILE GAME

SBK Official Mobile Game is the official mobile adaptation of the SBK championship, made under licence from Dorna. Unlike its predecessors, the parts of the motorcycle wear out over time, gradually reducing performance as in the real championship. Players can also steer with the device's gyroscope for a more interactive ride.
The AI opponents were trained with a neural-network approach, so they react dynamically to race situations on every championship track. The game aims at a realistic riding experience on mobile, mixing key elements of the championship with a few technological innovations.
Role: Game Designer at Just Funny Games. Licence: Dorna. Platform: mobile.
One of my main challenges while writing the Game Design Document was incorporating the championship's official regulations. The organizers provided them and wanted us to follow them closely. It was a big task, but essential for authenticity and fidelity to the real competition.

On SBK Official Mobile Game, my duties included:
-
Systems and rules: conceptualized the parts wear system and translated the official championship regulations into a Design Document accepted by the organizers.
-
Monetization and economy: created the whole monetization system and its documents, created and populated the in-game shops, and created, managed and tweaked the spreadsheets for monetization and bike stats.
-
AI and tracks: trained and tweaked the AI parameters to achieve better lap times, created different AI difficulty levels based on lap time, and created all the splines on the tracks that guide the AI along real riders' trajectories.
-
UI/UX and collaboration: designed UI wireframes and flows for all the monetization pages and more, with the art done by the art department, and worked closely with environment artists, animators and programmers.
